Steam users looking to spice up the default Steam interface and change out the default Steam skin but want to see features of their Windows PC interface entwined within their Steam client and in-game will love the Windows 8 Metro Steam Skin developed by BoneyardBrew. The skin is easy to install, just like other Steam skins and presents the Steam client, it’s in-game features and the chat as well as other parts of Steam similar to the Windows user interface, making Steam users who install the skin feel more at home. The skin comes with a custom, clean buttons which look very professional and a simple color scheme that is basic but attractive. Also, Metro Skin for Steam makes the Steam chat features look appealing with a custom overlay and color accent which suits the other parts of the Steam client. The Metro Skin’s great for a homely feel.

Hello!
stfu
ups
sorry
hm lol
wtf lol
legends say he still harasses random people for no reason
Between the perfect fit into Windows 10’s aesthetic, and the ability to customize the UI color accents, I’d have to recommend this skin for any user on Windows 10. Even on older Windows versions, it just gives Steam a much needed clean-feel to it.
Definitely recommend this skin whenever I can, it’s my favorite without a doubt.
How do you change the color accents?
http://metroforsteam.com/personalize/
Pick your settings and it’ll generate a “custom.styles” file for you. Place that in the skin’s folder and restart Steam.
Hello, i have all done what i have to but it dont works. If i go to Interface and then skins there is only standard skin. I have Mac OS X
Where did you put the skin? On Mac OS X rather than putting it in your steam directory you need to find the .app file and click show contents. From there it’s Content\MacOS\Skins. You may also need to restart steam.
I’m having the same problem only on Windows 10
dang you people are stupid
work in win 10 i trie d
same problem 🙁
Try taking the folder inside out of the Zip folder.
can i make the font bigger or does it stay like this
I really love how this one looks, It is a lot better than the normal steam skin :3
I’m on windows 10 and I extracted it then moved the folder to Programs Files x86/steam/skins/ then pasted it and when i go to interface then skins I only see default
Its same for me
You should only move the ‘Metro for Steam’ folder inside the folder and move it to Program Files.
Move what to Program Files? the Steam folder?
move the “Folder” Metro for Steam not the files inside the metro steam skins.
go to metroforsteam.com download the recently one, that’s
This skin is PERFECT.
When I go to the Interface drop box Metro Skin doesn’t show up, I just have default. It’s in the right place Program Files (x86) > Steam > skins. Any help? I’m running windows 10.
Thx soo much, I was having trouble with my Mac but there’s only one problem; the font won’t install properly, but it still looks cool.
All is perfect but there is not the little icon in front of my games ? Anybody knows why , 🙂
You have to click the little + at the top right of your games list on the left. Then check “Icons”.
Good skin! But there is no “No Connection” sign like the default skin has (i need that to tell that my Internet isn’t working lol). Perhaps you can add that into this skin because i like this skin so much. Thanks!
Using it for almost one year, awesome work!
this is stolen from metro for steam
this is the real link:
metroforsteam.com
not stolen. these aren’t skins that the people who made the website made, it’s skins other people made, most likely with permission. it even has the link.
No skins file on mac…
yes thats sad
same…
AMAZING clean look for steam, although some texts and overlap eachother in the settings window. Anyone know how to fix this or there’s something wrong with the files?
The font on this is a nightmare to update, FYI if you usually grab updated skins and make the fonts a little bigger for a big screen TV. I never did find the file that is overriding steam.styles’ font-size for the chatbox, which is about the only thing I care about being able to read.

This doesn’t seem to work on macOS Sierra. I’m not sure if it’s because of Sierra or Steam. Any help would be appreciated. If skins are possible anymore on Mac then… boo that sucks.
Any git version of this skin so we can keep things updated automagically?
got some error on settings > download tabs and the settings > account, where the position on VAC info is overlapping. im on windows 10, evrything else is okay, also for the improvements, i think it will be better adding download info on bottom left, a small box with small bar and percentage info. good theme *thumbs up
There is an update for metro skin 4.2.3 please update yours
Will this be updated in the future? Things like the VR button arent there for me. I know, there arent a lot of people using a VR but it would be nice if it was somehow possible to bring it back. Thanks.
high DPI support?
i dont have a skins folder do i just make one and but the files in it ?
cuz i dont got
That’s strange, I have it and I haven’t got any skins. I guess making one would work.
OMFG Well done. I am a huge fan of Windows and to have my Steam look like Win10 is freakin aamzing. Steam finally feels up to date…lol
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this.
It dont work, they show just default skin.
Btw I have Windows 10
hey so ya the gui seems really messy is there anyway you could relook the skin and look into some of the text and buttons being overlapping other objects and also the whole drop down list and maybe make it more organized like make the users stuff like change user settings and all those at the bottom of the drop down list
On Windows 10 I followed all the steps and i still can’t get the interface changed. I also never got the Metro for Steam folder. Assistance would be nice.
I installed it in a skins folder in my username directory. This seems to be where Steam is installed on my pc for some reason. Finally works!
i got the skin to work, but i’ve wanted to change the skin back to the default. unfortunately, i cannot do this. is anyone else having this problem
Great skin! But some of the menu elements and texts in settings are a bit messed up. Probably due to a recent update. Please Fix. Best skin tho.
I’m having some graphicals problems
1 . On the gamelist screen theres a word (Controll) right behind the title GAMES, its kinda annoying, I cant get rid of that.
2. On the game properties window, at the Local files window, the “Verify integrity of game files” button have its text all messed up, looks like theres 2 or 3 buttons overlaying this one.
Anyone knows how to fix these? Thanks
Hm this is an outdated download link!
BTW the new 4.2.4 is a little broken on the download page but it still works.
i cant uninstall the skin, when i go back to in interface, dont get the option to chose
Is there a way to change the color? I don’t really like the purple look when I highlight my games
Is there a virus or trojan on the files?
Hi, i have a error, the skin works, but the play button doesn’t appear 🙁
somebody can help me?
Hi, how do I change my colour?
I had to reinstall metro and now my downloads screen looks completely different from what it did look like and I do not know how to revert it back. Any ideas?
PS. It used to look like in the image above and now it is more like the old steam client
There are some really annoying bugs in this skin but overall it’s OK
The design is fascinating, great job!
How do i install the windows font fix folder?
Download button sometimes cuts off and can be kinda bothering to look at, any way to fix this? https://i.imgur.com/1USrxRq.png
I can’t apply the blue theme to overwrite the original one. There is no instruction to do so, so I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong. Good job for posting stuff that doesn’t even work.
my metro skin don´t work. I go to my profile in steam and don´t work HELP ME
Very cool design! Maybe the best-looking one on the market currently. Look forward to more choices of colors. Though the purple color looks perfect in this saturability for “store” “library” “community” for the main menu icons on the top left corner, it gets hard to be seen when looking at the “download paused” or “update paused” games. Wish that the purple color on these categories of games get easier to be seen. Very appreciate the download shortcut on the top right corner near the friend list icon. By the way, if double-click on a column of a game in “downloads” can start/pause the download right away, then it would be more convenient because users don’t need to click on the small download icon anymore. Great job!
it wont work for me 🙁
i found out idk how to delete that comment
Linux path was wrong for me. Instead I had to put the files to ~/.Steam/skins
Make a skin that makes steam looks like it was made in the 50s
Make a skin that makes steam looks like it was made in the 50s, that would be nice
It actually Worked without the Unnoficial Patch, Steam Looks good on Metro, Thanks!
Fantastic Skin, I feel like It’s a huge step up from the default steam skin, and doesn’t fuck up the VR button.
Nice theme!
My screen is low res and the sides get smooshed in. Pls tell me if i can solve the problem by changing the resolution of the skin to a lower one if it’s possible.
Hi,today steam will update the interface. Will Metro Skin update it?
Hi,today steam will update the interface. Will Metro Skin update it? thanks
When will the skin be updated with the new communication and friends tab, its bugging as of today
Please make a new version of metro! I really loved your skin but the new steam has moved “friends” section to the upper left corner which conflict with the “menu” of the existing metro
Fixed!
The latest steam UI update seems to have broke it
https://imgur.com/a/8rzE2MH
Fixed, please redownload! 🙂
it’s not fixed for me , it didn’t work
Can we get an update? the new steam update fucked up the theme a bit.

How can I solve this problem, the library does not open)
Is not working for me. Well, I installed it and I can see the skin itself but is buggy at the moment. I can’t see my Library for example. Multiple visual glitches like this one.
Man, when I go to library nothing shows up, it’s bugged, hope you can fix it asap
I have encountered a problem here where the library doesn’t show its only pitch black pls help
my library wont open
Bummer, seems the Library tab is completely broken as of this date.
the library does not load, I click, it does not open, I wonder how can I solve this, there is no other problem, it shows a black screen
library not working
The download link from this website is 4.3, where the library tab would not function correctly. Go to the official website for the 4.4 download.
