Originally developed by Darth Tealc, the Old Flat Green Steam Skin now continued by jonnyboy0719 is a simple but sophisticated, mainly green Steam skin which seems to take its aesthetic themes from the traditional color scheme of the army. The skin allows the presentation of information and buttons that are laid out over the Steam client to be easily visible as the basic mixture of lighter and darker shades of the color green within the color scheme make certain items and pieces of text stand out boldly. The multiple variations of tones of army green colors brought together looks terrific upon the client skin. The Old Flat Green Steam Skin is perfect for Steam users who are not big fans of the default Steam client skin and need a change. Some say that this skin is the most impressive and aesthetically pleasing skin out there, so give it a try.

Installation Instructions
- Download the skin file below, you should get an archive with the “.zip” or “.rar” extension.
- Extract the ZIP or RAR and move the folder to:
- Windows:
C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/skins - MAC OS X: right-click Steam.app and choose show package contents then
/Contents/MacOS/skins - Linux:
~/.local/share/Steam/skins/
- Windows:
- Open the Steam interface and in top tab, click on “Steam” / “Settings”.
- Then open the Interface section.
- Find the option “Select the skin you wish Steam to use (requires Steam to restart)” and choose the skin that you want.
- Completely shut down and restart Steam.
- That was all; now you must have another interface.
Disable/Uninstall
- Only go back to the Interface tab in Steam’s Settings and select a different skin.
The chat and friends UI doesn't load? Then you have to disable the new UI for them. We posted a guide on how to do this, take a look here.

It has a ‘button’ over the steam in the top left. When pressed it tries to activate steam VR. I can provide screencap.
Not sure if this skin was made to strictly follow the look of the old steam UI, but the line graph for DISK USAGE on the DOWNLOADS page is black. Difficult to see. It just looks so damn awesome to bother me.

Hey, every time I download a zip from this site, my computer says it’s either an unknown format or corrupted. Please fix this!
I hate how the description doesn’t mention that this is very similar to how Steam looked back in 2004.
Any chance of this getting updated in the near future? Not sure when it was last tweaked, but the VR button is fukt and it would be nice to have the option of putting the friends view in the bottom right area of the screen as the top right is cluttered. Otherwise it’s pretty accurate and a nice change from the modern default

U need to change the family sharing icon in the left upper corner becouse it glitches and its just hanging blank thingie id love to change it becouse it just makes not sence and its ugly, all n’ all 9/10
With the new Steam update today, this is now semi-broken. It would be nice if this was given an update. I also personally find the chat box style a little weird-feeling, it’s not really how it originally used to be (or I’m not remembering it correctly). Google image search “steam 2008” to see what I mean.
